Every Spring This Forest In Belgium Becomes A Blue Wonderland
There’s a mystical forest in Belgium, not far from Brussels, that will take your breath away if you visit it in April or May. Every spring, Hallebros, or Bois de Hal (Halle Forest in Dutch), a beautiful 552 ha forest, is carpeted with a thick layer of bluebell flowers.
Being in this forest during the bluebell season is a spectacular experience. Visiting would be best during weekdays, as it is packed with tourists and local visitors on weekends. Naturally, picking the flowers in this wood is strictly forbidden in order to preserve its extraordinary natural heritage.

The Mystical World Of Mushrooms Captured In Photos
Most people consider mushrooms to be the small, ugly cousins of the plant kingdom, but theirs is a surprisingly beautiful and wonderful world waiting to be explored. These beautiful mushrooms, captured by enthusiastic nature photographers, are a far cry from the ones you find in the woods or your local grocery store.
Most mushrooms, as we know them, are actually just the reproductive structure of the fungus they belong to – their fungal networks expand far further underground, and some fungi don’t even sprout the sort of mushrooms that we’re used to seeing. In fact, depending on your definition of “organism,” the largest living organism in the world is a fungus – there’s a honey mushroom colony in Oregon that occupies about 2,000 acres of land!

photos by alex geifman, who spent two months following a family of rüppell’s foxes in jerusalem’s ben shemen forest nature reserve. says geifman, “i live in the middle east on the desert’s edge. the colours are dull here, animals shy, the sky is flat and cloudless. for years i considered my country not suitable for nature photography.”
“eventually i discovered that dusty air softens the light and cloudless sky guarantees the sunset light. lack of open spaces led to the fact that animals live near by people and i can photograph them on daily basis before and after work.”
in fact, the burrow of these foxes was located close to a dirt road, and as alex explains, “because of this closeness, the foxes got used to the bypassing cars and cyclists, and i was able to capture their behavior from my car without attracting their attention at all.”
There’s just something magical about a little waterfall in a forest✨
